Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Goodreads

Title: Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters (Vol 1)
Author: Mairghread Scott, Mike Johnson, Michael Gaydos (Illustrations), & Beni Lobel (Illustrations)
Year Published: 2013

Synopsis: BEAST HUNTERS! They were there when Cybertron fell - but what happened to the Dinobots for the past few thousand years? Here's a hint - Grimlock and company haven't been sitting around and relaxing! The time is now - the place is Cybertron -and the recipe is ACTION!

Review: This graphic novel takes place on Cybertron, the dying planet. The war is done and the energon supplies are low. Many different groups of bots appear, but the Dinobots are heavily featured.

The first half of the story is a mystery with the bots trying to find the cannibal murderer, killing and then stealing energon from bots.

The second half features some interesting organic beasts that I really enjoyed seeing battle.

There's a lot of really cool action shots in this book, but I was kind of lost while reading. I wasn't familiar with the characters. If you only know of the Transformers movies, I wouldn't suggest this book unless you're ready to meet a new world.

Although visually stunning, I didn't think the stories or characters had much depth. I give this graphic novel a 3/5.
